h20loo, so you compared the RT torque converter number with a regular truck and they were the same? I also believed it was the torque converter, as I watched a whole video on the RT and how it had the loose converter... I'd love to know if it is a different converter or not...

Well the bastard Child of the Laramie and the R/T, also known as the sport with 3.55's is only rated a 7,600lbs with (20inch wheels) and a weight distribution hitch. Those 9100lbs rating is only if you have 17inch wheels.

engine size, transmission, rear axle ratio, & rim size are not the only things that are involved in the calculation
if you had leaf springs instead of coil springs, you could tow more

after all, what is the difference between the 1500 & 2500 series ?
