hey Curly..

you're the only person i've heard that had plastic covers at all...the two rear ones right? anyone i've ever seen has just had two exposed pockets at the back and had to cut out the fronts if wanting to add anything needing stake holes

now you know why they went missing, you had the only set out there

now i'm wondering if they're an oem option i'd like to get a set (or 5 sets just in case)

You are sure you had covers on the back stake holes? From what you are describing, that sounds just like my rails and I never had covers. The back holes are open (clean cut) and there really are no front holes, just outlines where you can cut your own.

I think all the back stake holes on the side rail covers are cut out from factory. If you look for replacement side rail covers they have holes in them. You can buy retracting stake hole tie downs and put them in.

I lost both of my plastic plugs in the first month. Bump. I like Leky411 idea about the retracting stake hole tie, good option to cover those holes.

My 2011 Sport came with the rear stake holes open.
The 2008 F150 I had previously had plugs that snapped in.
I am wondering if they would fit. I'll borrow one from a Ford owner I know tomorrow and try it.
I'll report back.

Jeff
