Default First recovery of the season with my RAM

Just wanted to say WOW at the power of the HEMI!!

Launched and recovered my boat yesterday for the first time with my new RAM, and I am very impressed with the LSD and the 3.92 gears. No slipping at all!

Boat + trailer weighs about 6000 lbs, the RAM pulls it like nothing is back there

I have included a pic for all:

Default My first pull

Great posts guys. I AM REALLY GLAD TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE THAT HAS A 2WD PULLING...
I traded in a 2007 2500 deisel for my 2011 2WD Ram.
I spun a rod bearing after loosing a ring in my diesel. They told me that it would take a new motor to fix it so it was trading day.
I couldnt wait to pull my boat the first time.
I hooked it up and it pulled it like a champ.
I LOVE THE HEMI.....
The boat is a Rinker 262. Total weight...7450lbs.
I only hope that I dont have any trouble this winter with the snow and ice.
I have a 3.92LSD.

What drop are you guys using with your boats? I dont currently have a boat of my own but i pull multiple others boats. Im thinking a 4" Drop would be about right.

Default Hey gene k.....

I dont use a drop with the 1500.
The boat makes it own drop shall we say.
With the 2500 I used a 4" drop.
Seems to be perfict with the weight of boat.

I currently have a 3 1/4" drop, but I measured just the other day and it is bow heavy. I am gonna replace it with a 2" drop... it will be even and balanced.

Nice Rinker... mine is a 2001 Rinker 232.
