Well there's really two issues with the gear swap and the auto trans. First of all, you want to stay out of overdrive at the track because you don't want to be running wide open throttle in overdrive, it puts alot of stress on the trans. The other thing is highway cruising rpm. the taller the gear, the higher the rpm (and possibly worse mpg). For my setup, going with 4.56" only puts me at roughly 2200rpm if I remember correctly, that's not that bad, right now with 3.55" I'm at like 1,600 I think (this is all at 70mph). As for the 6 speed manual trans, I'm not sure what the ratios are, and not sure if it has the same issues with running wide open in the overdrive gears.

The calculated diameter of my tires is 32.5" roughly, it's probably more like 32" measured in the driveway. I used 32.5" for my calculations for whatever reason. Sounds like you have 4.56".

Yes I do, 2400 bad for the motor? Kills gas milage its good in town compared to when the 37" tires were on but anything above 65mph guzzles it down.

Not really that bad, I ran my old ford with a 3 speed on the highway alot at around 2800 rpm at like 65mph, never hurt it at all. the lower the rpm the better, but I wouldn't worry about it, just don't cruise much past 70mph. I'm still searching for someone that maybe makes like a 4.3 or 4.3 gear but can't find anything else between the 4.1 and 4.56
