Default Tuner Needed?

Folks,

Will I need a tuner when I install my Mopar CAI and Magnaflow muffler and Y pipe? Thanks.

You don't need it, the PCM will compensate for the better flow. A tuner however will give you more power out of the mods that you have!

of course you need a tuner!!! But its not necessary. They are fun to play with, and wake the truck up when paired with a CAI and better flowing exhaust.

Has anyone experienced any problems while flashing the new tune? I ask because flashing does pose some risks.

I just did mine, no issues. I do know people that have been running timers for years with no problems

Timmy, did you notice a difference after you installed the DSP with the 91 oct tune?

You don't "need" one for the truck to run.

But the truck will run a LOT better with one on.

No problems updating the crom or programs here. As long as you:

1. Turn off all accessories
2. Don't pull the interface plug from your vehicle's dataport until the programmer says to,
3. Follow the step process to plug in, turn on, navigate the menu, select your options and let the tool program the car with no interruption.

Then everything will be fine.

I noticed a HUGE difference. I ran the track on 91 tune and my times got worse because it would just murder the tires! When I put the 87 perf tune on it...I dropped 8/10ths of a second from my best 91 tune. I need some drag radials to run 91 tune!

Click my "Ram Mods" thread link below and go to page 2 for some DSP install before and after dyno sheets.
