Default Tuner Question

Hey All
Wonderful site! First question Which Tuner/Programer is the best? Think I have lots of power, am mostly interested in better MPG's. Dose a programer effect warranty? More power, speed always great LOL Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a diablosport predator. I would not get a tuner just for the MPG's bc there isnt justifiable increase. I saw 1 MPG gain when switching from 87 to 89 and 89 to 93 gas with my tune installed. More power for sure though if thats what you want. The tuner can affect the warranty if chrysler proves that the tuner was the cause of damage. I asked my service manager directly and he said that the dealership itself doesnt mind if you use one, but chrysler does and they will void your warranty.

The tuner will void your warranty. Saying that they have to prove it caused the damage is BS. Can you afford to wait to go to court to prove it didn't, while your truck is sitting waiting for repairs, I don't know about you but I can't. Also, think about it, more power, some, better milage, I doubt it, just doesn't add up. If it was that easy Chrysler would be doing it, the manufacturers are in a horsepower race right now. More power and more MPG sells trucks.

I also run a DiabloSport, right now on 87 octane performance tune. I have noticed that the motor stays in MDS mode a lot more on the highway and my MPG is up about 1 MPG average. It also burns a lot more gas when you are on it hard!

Dude before you start making claims about damage not having to be proven then ill need some evidence. I stood at the dealership with my service manager and he told me that the tuner would have to be proven as the reason for the damage.

And unless you have a tuner then dont make claims that they will not give you more power and better mileage. You are wrong and full of BS yourself.

Set the tune back to stock when you take it in and you shouldn't have any problems!

I'll have to agree with the bogus claim. Tuners definately do add power and mileage....because I have one and checked! I also have timeslips to confirm the added power. There are also people on the forum that have had tuners for years without any warranty issues or parts failing because of the tuners.
