That fixed the problem. Never had any more prob. after that.
I changed my filter and fluid not too long ago and mine still does it...

Mine had the filter changed and the fluid flushed about 5000 miles ago and it still does it. Not quite as frequent though. I honestly think it has to be something electrical that Dodge may have did not tune quite right. It's like the trucks computer can't shift fast enough or something.

Had a sim problem with my 02' 1500 4x4. Was driving everything was fine then truck just bogged out and would'nt shift after that. Wound up being a sensor in the trans pan. ( I think it was called a speed temp sensor regulator ) not pos on the name was over a year ago. Real easy to change just messy. It's a 15 min repair. Step 1.drain trans fluid 2. drop the pan 3. remove the trans filter 4. unplug sensor remove bolt and replace sensor & replug. Install new filter pan gasket & replace pan and mopar spec fluid. The light cleard an truck was back to normal. I think the part was about $80 bucks. No spec tools just a ratchet and screw driver. Hope this helps.

I was going to suggest a tuner, but they don't have a lot of choices for your engine. I hope you figure it out man!

my '01 1500 does the same thing but it was rebuilt ... has under 10K on it everything is NEW was at the test and tune on thursday ( for the first time this year for me and the new tranny)... found out (thank you ramvan) that 1-2 shift is hydraulic and 3-4(o/d) is electronic. So im thinking there has to be a certin pressure for the computer to accept the shift into 3rd. id like to get this issue solved before my 408 project starts cause thats how im building it is threw race funds
