Depends on what your looking to do.. That route would be for max horse power.. That shop should find a pcm calibrated for all adjustments after the power adder was installed.. good luck reconfiguring the stock one.. like i said, doing that makes the truck act like it doesn't know what to do.. That belt problem sounds like a mis-installed S/C, bracket, wrong pullies..?? Great lookin trucks though..
Actually SCT finally makes a tuner for them, but you run into 2 problems plus 1 just for s/c applications. First hardly any tuners out there buy the software from SCT for fact that they are charging $2500 for each type of dodge ( ie 1 for viper, 1 for hemi,1 for srt-4 types, and one for jtec obd2). There is a couple tuners out there doing great things with them but none local so you send off logs and then wait for an e-mail back with new tune, but still beats the old sending the pcm out to get reflashed. Secondly SCT butchered the tuning capabilities allowed for dodge compared to other makes. Basically the send out a alpha version and then made somethings worse with updates. Then lastly Dodge pcm hate boost. So what you end up with is using a 2 bar map sensor and cutting your voltage in half to it. By doing this you end up running twice the size injector you actually need. I am running 60lb injectors on mine with 33% being pulled at idle.
As far as the belt thing goes I just can't find the right size belt since I switched to a smaller pulley. I am running a 113" belt and they next size down I could find is around 109 where I need about a 112. Belt slip is a big problem with these set-up once you try over 8lbs. Hopefully I will have this fixed this weekend with a different idler pulley and spacers under they A/C. If that does not work will be going with a Richard Racing ultragrip pulley.
