Default 07 Ram 1500 tranny problems

I just made an appointment for service at McKinney Dodge (in SC) after noticing a grinding sound when shifting into reverse from Park. 07 model with 28000 miles. I bought it second hand about 6 months ago, still under warranty. This post is to invite opinions about what may cause this problem. I checked the fluid yesterday and it is a little low. I'm taking it in this afternoon and will share the diagnosis when I get it.
I'm a big fan, so far, of the Dodge Ram. I'm hoping that this doesn't spoil the good feeling I've had about my big HEMI.

Welcome to the site. Haven't heard too much about grinding issues in the tranny. Wonder if something is causing low pressure in the lines...

Welcome to the forumZ, and no, I have not heard of any issues to that effect either, but good luck with it. I will find out on Saturday why it looks as though my pinion seal is beginning to leak and report on that later, but hope you enjoy the site.

McKinney tech says it's a syncro sound that i'm hearing. normal, not fixable. I asked if it was ready to pick up and he said no, they will call me when it's ready. He said they have to close out the ticket, quality control...etc. I have a former mechanic friend who says it sounded like a problem to him. he suggested calling around to other dealers. anyone ever hear of the normal syncro "grind" when shifting into reverse???
