Default Looking for some exhaust recommendations.

I have a 2011 ram 1500 laramie longhorn 5.7L. Basically I am looking for some opinions on whats good. I would normally look at borla but they don't have one for my truck. Thanks!

When you say Borla doesn't have one, are you looking for an entire catback system?

I'd recommend you go with a simple muffler replacement. I'm not sure what your current configuration is now but I used to have a single outlet. I replaced my Y-pipe for a better flowing one from Magnaflow, then got a Magnaflow single in/dual out muffler and then had the exhaust shop install it all along with some new tailpipes.

So if you already have dual tailpipes, I'd keep them because they have resonators on them and will cut down or eliminate the resonance drone you get in MDS mode with an aftermarket muffler.

I prefer Magnaflow for it's sound, quality, warranty and price point.

So, what is your current configuration?

I just installed the Corsa DB catback on my 2011 5.7 and I'm OK with it. The sound is good, but until I'm able to put long tube headers on, it won't do much good. The headers, cats, and y-pipe are just too restricive to make any power. Once the mysteries of the new computer are solved, I think 390 HP will jump to 435-450 HP with Long Tubes and a tune. I'm waiting!!! By the way, this system is whisper quiet until you get on it. Then it starts to growl!!

Everything is stock so I would have to check. Was looking at cut outs but everyone says you lose power on it.

Cutouts won't affect the upper end HP but you'll lose some torque at the low end which will make the truck feel sluggish.

Cutouts are pretty much for giggles and grins on a stock vehicle. They do sound good but don't add anything to your power level.

Anyway, go look at your system and let us know what you have.

I've got a Magnaflow on my R/T and SRT-8. This makes cars 5 and 6 where I've used them and couldn't be happier with the results.

The Challenger took a couple thousand miles to break in (I've done <7500 in 18+ months) but if I drove it more it might not take that long. It now sounds like a Nascar ride when I start it up in the garagae and I get as many comments on the sound now as I do the car.

The Ram is more of a every other day driver and has started to break in rather nicely. I've got an '04 Titan with a Magnaflow and while its got a sweet sound there's nothing like the Hemi's with a kick-azz exhaust.

I got mine from P e r f o r m a n c e P e d d l e r (non sponsor vendor) for under $525 shipped. My Midas center has done all my exhausts and put it on for $95. The Titan cost more to install as it wasn't a dual pipe to begin with so a little work had to be done.
