Pull the Fob apart and clean the battery and terminals. Mine was doing this too, but a quick cleaning and it works like new. If you keep the keys in your pocket, like most of us do, lint finds its way in there and causes a bad connection.

I believe that the remote start works with radio transmission, there is an antenna behind the glove box if what I was told by the dealer is correct. Maybe the lightning is interfering with that or there is a short that is causing the problem. Just some ideas, I am having the remote start put on today and will pose the question to the service guys at my dealer.

Here's another question for you, why does the alarm go off when you use the emergency key to get in? I can unlock the door and as soon as I pull the handle, the alarm sounds. I'm kind of glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue. Oh, and another weird one, when I activate and pair my cell phone to the truck, the phone cuts off and reboots repeatedly until I disable bluetooth...

when i first bought my Ram a bit better than 2 years ago
i was having FOB problems, the dealer tried replacing the FOB batteries, it didn't help
one day it was raining HARD, i had my arms full of groceries, FOBs didn't work, i had to use the Valet key, opened the door & put the FOB into the ignition & started it.
Next day i was sitting in line at the dealership at 7:30 am, they couldn't do anything for me that day, but, they did order 2 new FOBs & they called me the next day to come in & get them, they also did some kind of FLASH & in the last 18 months, maybe a hand full of times i had to press the Unlock function more then once, i use the Start function most of the time when its chilly

by the way FOB is short for FOBIK, which stands for Frequency Operated Button Integrated Key
sometimes Automatic Doors, CNC machines, etc, can cause radio interference

I already answered this. Post 4. Also says in owners manual under getting started and then under theft alarm. Says that the alarmed is disarmed when you press the key FOB unlock button or turn the ignition to the on/run position

I thought the FOBIKs could NOT be re-programmed

both of my fobs started doing this on my 11. I have to smack it and it then works. I will be going to the dealer to have them replaced. Hope this helps
