Question Which Rims

Meeting up with a fellow Ram owner tomorrow. We are discussing trading Rims/Tires. I have 22" SRT Gunmetal and he has 20" Factory Blacked Out on GY Wrangler MT/R Kevlars.

Also, what are some things I should look at as far as the quality of the blackout job on his Rims? He bought the truck with them already on and is not sure how it was done.

I'd definitely check the black out job. If it's paint, be prepared to repaint them. If powdercoated, that's much better to have.

Look for any thinning paint, worn edges at the rim lip, chips and dings. If you see any of this, you can be pretty sure they were painted.

I like the SRT wheels...why do you wanna swap?

I like the look of the black vs the GunMetal against the GoMango and I like the meatier tires. I am also wanting to get the Daytona stripes back on and think the Black would look good with the stripes and the wing.

Thanks for the input on the paint vs powdercoat, that is the main thing that is holding me back along with the age of the rims since they are the factory set.

Yeah...one other thing to consider...

If those are the stock, chrome clad, wheels, those covers are chromed plastic.

Thanks again. I will definitely be investigating them heavily.

Just tap them. You'll hear a hollow box sound vs. a metallic sound if they are the chrome clad plastic.
