Angry Uconnect bluetooth and Droid 2 problem

hckyplyr - At least your dad can use his uconnect bluetooth capability with his phone. I just bought a brand spankin-new Bighorn and it will not stay connected with my Droid 2 Global phone. I'm very pissed off about this as I was looking forward to using this feature with my truck. I followed the instructions, set it up and it immediately hangs up and loses the bluetooth connection. I have deleted the profile and set it up several times and I get the same problem. I even tried pairing it with my wife's blackberry and it does the exact same thing as well. I was beginning to think I had a defective MyGig deck. But after searching this problem on the net and reading several instances of bluetooth problems with the MyGig system that dated several years, it seems like more than a defect. With a history of this why hasn't Dodge fixed it by now? Bluetooth doesn't have to be that complicated! Are these decks hit and miss? Should I have Dodge just replace it? I've only had my truck for a week, and haven't had the time to go to the dealership. I'm really upset about this; if I spend money on something I expect it to work. Anybody have a solution?

Sorry everyone, I thought that I had posted here about the Chrysler TSB # 08-036-11. It's a SW update for the Uconnect system. Irt can be done either at the dealership or you can go to the link below and see post # 387. mrjeep has helped me to host the update on his hosting site.

It is a very simple procedure to do and takes about 20 minutes. He has posted instructions there for you also. This update will fix a lot of issues from phones $ iPods that are causing you headaches.

I did not know that it takes atleast 30 sec. to connect though. I'll look again for the feature your talking about on his cell phone, and I'll be a bit more patient when we get in the truck and wait a minute, and see what happens. Thanks so much for your quick response. I shouldn't have posted my question in both forums.
Don't know about uConnect, but I DO know that a Moto Razr can be set to auto connect to a Bluetooth device!

Nah, the Razr was one of the best phones ever made - perfect size and function (as a phone). I cried when mine died a last year

Razr does not support PBAP in their supported Bluetooth profiles so the phonebook will not download. But you can manually put in 32 contacts with up to 4 different phone numbers for each contact. This is a phonebook memory that the Uconnect has.
