Default Headlights flashing on and off

My '96's headlights keep flicking on and off, even when i dont have the headlights on. It will start almost as soon as i turn the accesories on and continue as I drive. When i turn the truck off, it keeps going for a couple seconds the stops. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Sounds to me like you have wires shorting out and giving power to your headlights and by passing your switch! Im sure others may chime in. Maybe hook a volt meter up to your headlights and have a friend turn your accessories on one buy one until you find where the power is coming from? Could help with the narrowing down of finding the circuit in question

+1 My old Dakota did the same thing....twice, both times a new control box. Luckily both times were under warranty and the second time fixed it for good.
