I think if you go build your own and check whatever boxes you need to in order to get the lighting on a laramie and an SLT/Big Horn you'll find the wording is different than the sport. At least it was when I researched it long ago when I discovered my missing lights...

It is actually cheaper for them to just put the same harness in every vehicle, regardless of the options. Can you imagine if they had to tell the guys making harnesses that they had to follow a different diagram every day? They'll spend a couple cents more in unused wiring, but they'll only have one parts bin to pull from for that item. I wouldn't be surprised if the models without an upper box even have the wires back behind the dash just to piss you off
Someone (Dodge!!) is lying. The guy at Chrysler Canada looked it up in his spec sheets and informed me the lights should be there. Dodge.ca has a "what's included" pdf file; it clearly shows these lights as being standard equipment on the Sport. It's pretty black and white. No color!
I'm still waiting to hear back from Chrysler Canada on their decision. Once I know I can then go to the dealership with their decision/findings.

From what I remember - on this site - some guys (sport models) are getting the lamps, while others are not. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Talking to the dealership, they seem to think the wiring is already there...just need the parts now.

So here it is almost 2 weeks since I called and spoke with someone at Chrysler Canada. I called them again today for a status update. Still no word on whether the lights are going to be installed under warranty.
Seriously? How long does it take to get an answer?

A call goes out again: Are there any Canadian Ram SPORT owners that have the hood lamp and glove box lamp installed from factory?

Well...I finally heard back from a representative at Chrysler Canada. According to what he told me the information he HAS is incorrect and that the underhoop lamp and glovebox lamp are not included in the Luxury Group. He thanked me for finding the error and said Chrysler Canada is updating their information accordingly.
Really? Come on!

The Canadian Dodge site also shows these lamps as being standard on the Sport (with Luxury group.)

It's no sweat off my back, I was just curious to see if they should have been there in the first place. I'm not going out anytime soon to purchase these for my truck...I don't care they aren't there.

I just don't buy the B.S. about there being a mistake in their code sheet. Surely someone else has inquired on these lamps before me?

So, my question goes out to any CANADIAN Ram 1500 owners (SPORT Model): Does anyone have the hoodlamp and glovebox lamps installed in their truck from factory?

I have had my 2011 Sport for 6 months and never realized there was no light under the hood or in the glove box until reading this.
I guess I never opened the hood in the dark.
The glove box light would be nice though.I think I'll buy one.
I won't give my dealer a hard time over it though.
After I made my deal with them, they brought in a truck equipped almost as I specified.
The difference being that when I picked it up, it had the Premium Group (Alpine sound system, Auto climate control, Park Sense ) which I didn't ask for. They said this was their mistake and didn't charge me extra. I believe this was an $800 option.
I felt I already got a good deal, so I was pretty happy about it.
Not all dealers are out to screw us.

they should quit spending money on the stupid "ram 1500" on the side of each truck, and save some money. As if we don't know what we purchased

What are the part numbers for each.

I have a 2011 sport without the lamps and would like to add them.
