Default please help!I can't get out of park

Ok I installed my eagle eyes 3rd brake light checked the cargo light and it worked I started it and checked the brake light and it wouldn't work,then I went to put the truck in hear and I can't get it out of park.the gear shifter won't move.I tried the 4w4 and I can get in 4 high,w the truck in park,but cant get 4low or neutral and can't get the gear shift to move down to any other gears and have had no prior issues with it.

Oh yeah I did hook up the old light,it still won't work.please help

Have you checked all the fuses?

I checked all the brake light fuses they fine any other ones I need to check

In the 2000 model there were some under the hood tied to the same ones in the cab fuse box. Not sure about 2002. Have you looked there?

where is the one inside the truck?I have been looking under the hood.I found on internet. That there was a cable attached to the ignition switch and it can cause the gear shift to not engage

There may not be one inside the cab. The 2000 model my dad had, had one on the driver's side dash and one on the drivers side under the hood. My 98 Chevy was the same way.

my 01 gmc did too this don't tho idk y.I figured it out tho.you had to take out the brake light bulb and put in the wire for the led piece and the wireson it weren't bent like they need to be and was blowing a fuse but we fixed it and it runs great now thanks for the help

my 02 did the same thing if you pull the panel under the steering wheel and find the shift cable and follow it up to where it connects to the lever there is a locking silanoid that is suppose to disengage when you stepon the brake. mine stopped working and the cable broke where it attaches to the lever.
