i read somwhere that there are adjustable shocks that you can use with your factory springs to raise your truck and inch or two. ive already got a 1.5" leveling kit and 1.5" blocks in the rear, and im looking to raise the front just a bit more. Any suggestions right off? I was searching shocks, and ive found shocks for lifted 2500's will those work or can i make them work? I also read about shocks that are adjustable so you can lift the front between 0-2 inches i believe. Unfortunately the military doesnt provide the greatest paycheck thats why i dont want to go with a lift. Any ideas or suggestions and i would really aprreciate it! Thanks. Chad
Bilstein makes an adjustable shock/strut. Click on the link and scroll down the page and look at the 5100 series Ride Height Adjustable. You just have to re-use your stock springs.
i cant seem to find that particular shocks anywhere maybe its not out yet? what about using a shock that is designed for 2-3 inches of lift? Will that actually lift me up any or will it just be stiff? or maybe a 2500 shock?
Click on the link and scroll down to where you see 06-08 Ram 1500. The shock it lists for the front is the 5100 adjustable shock for $103.95. I wouldn't combine these shocks and a leveling kit. You don't want to go over 2 1/2" on the front. Dodge 1500 and 2500 suspensions are different. Not sure what 1 1/2" leveling kit you have now but I would just take it out and get a 2 1/2" leveling kit from 4wheelparts. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits..._pn=ADDLK-1020Or take the rear block out and get the bilstein adjustable shocks and adjust it for 1 1/2" of lift to level the truck out.
If it's 2wd does it have coil springs or struts? Just asking cause all the lift kits I find for a 2wd have coil springs listed. If it's coil springs then the Bilstein adjustabel shocks wont work, just buy some coil springs for like a 4"+ lift kit and cut them until the truck sits like you want or buy some lift spindles. http://www.cstsuspension.com/product...6/productID/33
