Default Howling rearend on decell

I too have this noise. What it is, is excessive backlash in the ring and pinion.
Once warmed up, it seems most pronounced at about 45 - 50 MPH. Lift off the gas, and listen to it whine, slightly press the pedal, and you can make it disappear..
The dealer will warranty, the replacement parts, etc.
I should be having mine done, in a few weeks.

My knowledge with whowling rearends is extensive, as I had many, in my V8 powered Mazda RX7

I had mentioned the TSB on the under filled rearends, from the 2009 and 2010 models, and was assured that this had nothing to do with that situation, as it has been cured on the newer models...I would agree.

Your noise is different than what the rest of us are talking about. The growling occurs when on the gas. Stops when off the gas.
