Default Squeaking under the hood 2002 Ram

It finally rained here in the houston area last week, and since, I have been getting a squeaking noise from under the hood of my 2002 Ram 1500, 5.9L.... It does it when I start it up, but last night after driving it for about 20 minutes, the noise went away. But the noise came back this morning... It sounded like it was coming from the belt, so I sprayed some belt conditioner on it. This made the noise much louder! What could be wrong, and how much $$$$$ am I looking at for parts and repairs?

Mine does it when its cold. It's definitely a belt issue. During the summer it rarely makes the noise unless, like in your case , it rains alot. It never got bad enough for me to worry about though. I can tell you one thing though.... I used belt conditioner and it gummed up everything and make things worse. I tried to clean all of the "sticky" off of my pulleys and bought another belt. I won't use it again. Let us know what you find out. Thanks for the post. T.

I had the same issue i took off the serptine belt and washed it with dawn dish soap.
dried it good and then scrub the pulleys with dish soap aswell and my problem was solved.
