Default 3500 Right Front Bearing Issue?

Hey all, have a possible bearing issue and wanted to run a few thoughts past you all. The "rattling can of paint" sound I get out of the right-front, I had originally thought was a small rock inside my center cap. Paying closer attention revealed that it only makes this sound going forward or turning left. (Nothing inside the cap either!) Turning right eliminated the sound completely, and every time. So confirmation that I am on the right track would be great. But equally important would be where and what to replace when I dig into this. I am going to replace the front rotors and pads while i'm in there but I was wondering where you all get your parts for this. I think I remember seeing a complete hub and inner/outer bearings setup somewhere.

Is that how these come? Some brands to avoid or some waaay better than others (Timken vs. OEM?)? Any feedback along these lines would be greatly appreciated!

Updated thought. Possibly a u-joint? I can replace that much easier and cheaper so I may try that.

Default Front End Noise

From the looks of your profile your vehicle is under warranty. Is it? If it is let the dealer fix it. If not then pull the front hub and check the bearing.

No warranty, I'm the second owner and she has 140K on the odo. Pulling the hub is not really the option I was hoping for as that is a huge project. Hopefully it will turn out to be the axle joint and not the bearing assy. Ugh.

My girlfriends 2500 just rolled 151k miles and has the same clicking sound from the front end, i thought it was the drivers side front axle u joint. Both sides axle u joints are shot an the bearings are pretty much shot so they're getting replaced too

I'd try RockAuto.com for the parts. If they don't have them, there are several Mopar Parts Sellers (dealer parts departments) listed as eBay sellers. I've dealt with one and they have the best prices on those parts you can't get from anyone else but the dealer.

Thanks Maddog I will try them. I just wish replacing the bearing/hub assemblies was not such a nightmare project. I'd normally LOVE this kind of weekend work. But everything I've seen shows it to be a major PITA.

Stangshcky12, I'd love to know if you do the work on your girls truck and how it went. Please repost if you do!

Were at school so I won't be doing the work.
From what ive seen, it's some work but not to bad. Pull the wheel then in the back of the rotor housing there are 4 bolts that holds wheel bearing, I don't think you have to remove to axle nut. Take the caliper off and you should be able to pull the rotor, wheel bearing and axle shaft as one.
