Default Transfer Case leak

My 2009 Dodger Ram Crew Cab with 9000 miles has a leak at the transfer case. I was just wondering if anyonw else has had a similiar problem , any TSBs on this? The delaer had to order parts to fix the leak. Did a search and did not see any topics on it.

I noticed a couple of days ago that my transfer case had a oily film on the bottom. Sprayed it off with carb. cleaner, checked it out today and notice that there's enough on the gasket at the joint to get my finger oily.

Not sure if this will justifies a leak in the dealers mind? How bad was your leak, and did the dealer give you a rough time about fixing it ?

I have an 09 with about the same miles on it and my transfer case has been leaking for about a month. I have had it in a couple of times and they keep telling me they couldn't find any leaks. Yet when i bring it in there is oil all over the bottom.

Default Fixed for now.

Dealer replaced seals, and they did the tie rod recall while it was in there. So far so good. will keep you guys updated if the leak was not fixed.

I had the same oily residue that made me think I had a leaking transfer case. Turns out the dealer found a faulty weld in the front yoke of the driveshaft that was weeping oil. They replaced the entire driveshaft under warranty and the leak is gone. This was just a few weeks ago when I brought it in for the tie rod recall.

My 09 had a transfer case leak as well and needed the seal replaced. I noticed a drop of fluid hanging off the front drive shaft boot that goes into transfer case when I was changing the oil a while back ( around 35k miles ). at 52k now and all is still dry.
