I work at a store and unfortunately, I say don't do it. Just keep your ride clean and everything will be fine.

Ok, you should know! Can you say any reason why not?

How about the rust protection?

Thanks for your input!

The biggest reason is it is just a sealant. You can buy it (Zaino makes a good one) and apply it yourself. The dealers don't have any magic formula.

Well its just wax, i used to apply it and its garbage, i have seen better wax from the top dogs in the industry, its marketed as a sealant but its just a wax....trust me I was a detailer for many years. The rust proofing is good, as long as it done correctly.

Are you referring to the electronic corrosion protection system?

Paint protection comes in two forms. One is the wax form that anyone can do themselves with a little time. Once you wash your truck 2-3 times, it is gone and needs to be reapplied. The second is a electronic rust inhibitor that is installed to the battery and works on the theory that if the vehicle is charged with energy, the rust cannot form. In my opinion, all hogwash. Keep your truck clean, wax by hand when needed, hire a professional to power polish if required and you will have a ride that looks awesome for a long time.

As for rustproofing, the product that we use is peanut oil based. It is sprayed into the panels of the vehicle to provide another barrier over the unfinished metal. Again, hogwash. Your truck already comes with a very good rust perforation warranty should you need it. Save your money.

Just my opinion.
