I hate the factory side step bars. Cant get in the truck without getting my pants dirty and if you try stepping up on them its like trying to get in a Corvette. Of course 5' 4" Girls love them. I would take the one off the Driver's Side if I didnt think it would look stupid with one.

Lots of options. You have nerf bars (oval or round tubes) or step bars (NFab, GoRhino, MBRP, etc...). I like the step bars myself over the nerf bars.

Look for the heavier gauge metal ones, check to see if they are painted or powdercoated (unless you want the chrome ones) and maybe bounce what you've found that you like off of us.

Who makes the factory step bars? I like they way they are tucked up to the truck tighter than others I have seen. I would get a set from Dodge, but there has to be another brand just like them out there that are cheaper.

I have a set of the mopar that came on my sport and they are 3 weeks old, trying to decide if I'm gonna sell them, I like the clean look without them and plan on debadging soon to get rid of the chrome. How soon are you planning on buying? Not sure how much I should even ask but if I do I also have the matching reciever hitch that would be sold also. PM me and I'll let you know when I make up my mind.

Na, they are chrome, I plan on taking all the chrome off my truck so its just white with some black, not really liking the step bars anyway and I'm probably gonna bag the truck soon so I won't need them.

I like the MOPAR steps. They are rock solid. My wife is disabled with a stroke and she can get in and out without extra help. They tie in the chrome bumpers & black step pads.

sorry to ask guys but are the side steps that retract fragile? would they break if say i hit them on a rock or do they work as a slide rail at the same time?
