Default Possible Compression Issue

I just replaced the water pump in my truck on Friday which went well other than getting off the fan clutch assembly.

However, I noticed something that really concerned me. When I was trying to remove the fan clutch assembly with the drivebelt still on, I was able to turn the crank with relative ease. Does that mean I have low compression? Am I looking at a possible rebuild? I'm new to these trucks and I am just an average shadetree mechanic. I'm in the Army so I don't always have time to check the site, but I would appreciate any input. I'm deploying in March and since I am currently stationed in Colorado I really want to have the 4x4 running well with Winter coming up. Thanks in advance for any help.

you dont have a compression issue, your actually feeling the lifters bleeding down and allowing the valves to not fully shut and seal the compression/intake chamber, you should be fine, if you experince any weird irratic idle then i would have a compression test performed, but allow the engine to fully warm up before you freak!!!!, good luck on your deployment!!!

I really appreciate it! Like I said I'm new to these trucks and I also seemed to have to do a lot of shifting on the highway when I would be going up hill and I didn't know if I was having compression issues or if the 4.7 just does not have that much power. I rode in a friend's 2008 Silverado with Chevy's 4.8 and even though it was an automatic I noticed his transmission was doing a lot of work. Kind of put my mind at ease. Thanks again.
