Default Rematch with a 1999 mustang Cobra

I recently had my 2-3 shift fixed and the truck seems to be running alot better. truck puts down 315 rwhp and 349 rwtq

this is the rematch, looks like I was able to maintain lead for approx 19 sec. from a 20 roll.





This is our same 20 roll race from a few weeks ago. I would hit the limiter on the 2-3 shift at about 75 mph or so and he would catch up my 90 mph

I saw your first vid a while back, pretty impressive. You can see the difference, you held on to the lead longer this time. What cam are you running and what gears are you using with those tires? I built a few of those 440's back in my haydays...brings back good mems! A little more torque on the top end may do you some justice. That's pretty good, especially for a big truck againt a mustang...good race. Sounds good too!

Its a 1998 346cu.in Ls1 with a stock heads/cam setup. It was at 13.8 a/f we tuned it to a 13.0 at WOT.

it has 3.90 gears and the tires measure 29in.

Thanks, as of now I feel like the truck should run 13's but a trip to the track will only tell. I need to work on the suspention a little more...sometimes I get wheel hop, sometimes I only get one tire spinning, and the front is kinda squirly. I found a bad tie rod, both front u-joints are bad, and I think the front wheel bearing is a tad loose. both front rotors are warped.....,,,,it goes on and on...but one thing at a time and soon it will be a smooth ridding truck as well.

Quick truck, good luck on the 13's, I don't know though, my friends 3,300ish lb late LS1 camaro with the better intake manifold, headers and exhaust, ram air only runs a 13.0.

EDIT: Never mind I thought you said 13.0.......breaking into the 13's seems doable!

Thats what I thought, I was expecting MAYBE 290hp to the tires....

It is a Stock heads/cam LS1 from a 1998 corvette, If I remember right the cam is one of the smaller LS1 cams.....479/.467 lift if I remenber right.

The truck ran a 14.0 @ 94 mph before a few small changes, but at the time had 3.90 gears, stock 4l60e with a sloppy 2-3 shift, ported oem throttle body, headers, flowmaster muffler, and custon home made intake

Since that 14.0 pass I added a UD pulley(maybe 5 rwhp) LS6 intake manifold(maybe 8 rwhp) fixed the 2-3 shift by rebuilding the 4l60e with the high rpm pump spring kit. and the dyno tune of coarse(15hp) I would think It will hit 13.7 or so with the same conditions as the 14.0 run...Again on the 14.0 run I would feel the truck slow down/bind up on the 2-3 shift...now it is a nice quick kick into third with ZERO hesitation.

The 3.90 gears help my truck alot, I think the good combo of bolt-ons help this stock motor show its potential.
