TPS....throttle position sensor. It is a sensor that is on the side of the throttle body that is held in place by 2 torx bit screws. You simply unplug the wire harness by squeezing the bottom and take out the screws. Put the new one in place and reverse the order. Takes about 10 min tops.

Could save you a ton of money.

Not sure about the Hemi buddy.

You know you're in the 4.7 liter section right?

Haha sorry man. If I knew I would help but I'm not sure about the Hemi.

Good luck though!

Hi, glad I found this post. I have the same issue with my 07 Dodge Ram. After running a diagnostic we confirmed my TPS is bad. A mechanic told me after it's replaced my truck would need to be reprogrammed. Is that true? I saw a video online where a guy just unplug the old one and put in the new one. Also, what's the best brand? Can I just get one from my local parts store or should I go to the dealer for the part?

Could be wrong, but I've never heard of having to reprogram after replacing TPS. As for brand, not so sure. Myself, I'd check prices but lean more towards Mopar parts...

Good luck!

My 03 had the same problems. And note: a bad TPS can cause shifting issues as well. My truck stumbled, had erratic idle, surging at stop lights and would randomly shift in and out of O/D on the freeway. A new TPS fixed all the issues.

Yup, mine had the same issue. I could put my truck in Park, and the truck would idle just fine. If I slightly tapped the accelerator, it would then rev up and down and keep doing this till I went into drive mode. Quick easy fix, although I will say I might try the $30 Autozone part next time. Dealer charged $100 for the TPS!!
