Thanks guys I needed a good laugh tonight.

Just figured out that the $300 I paid Visions Electronics (Yes I'm calling them out) to pre-wire and prep the truck was a complete waste of money. They ran speaker wire for the DVD unit power, and wired in defective RCA cables. Hooked everything up to the Lockpick and the video would flicker and go out. Tested a portable DVD unit with a different set of RCA cables and voila!

I just spent the last 2 hours completely removing all the garbage they installed and ran high quality wires. I'll be heading back tomorrow to get a full refund and drop the crap on the managers desk. If I had known that cutting a hole in the head liner and $20 worth of parts = $300 at Visions, i'd have attempted this myself in the first place.

Things I've learned:

The 12V constant feeding the rear dome light is well not constant. There is something in the Dome Light which must tell the truck to increase voltage. When I test the "constant" I get 3.4V fluctuating. When I hooked up the lights from the overhead they flash like a strobe (kinda cool actually). To make certain I didn't have a defective unit I used my probe with an LED and it was flashing as well. When I turn on the rear dome, the strobe effect is gone and lights working properly.

I am wondering if the factory dome itself when is turned on closes a circuit and flows the 12V from the switched to increase voltage? Anyways not too concerned it is a great conversation piece and as long as the lights turn on when the door is opened I am happy.

Door Switched is a Constant 12V when the door is open and is the middle pin in the connector.

Ground is the Black wire in the Connector (duh)

Rear Switched DC for the Ciggy Lighter is on the farthest left (closest to the centre console) harness under the driver seat. It is fed by a Purple/Pink Stripe and will go hot in Accessory Mode. Don't be confused folks the "Switched" power at the harness under the dash (thickest blue wire) will ONLY go hot when in "ON" mode not "Acc". If you tie any accessories in to this wire, they will only work in "ON" or when the engine is running.

PITA if you want to play Zelda or Super Mario Bros in the back seat with only the stereo and overhead running!

Lockpick CHR550 is working flawlessly and exactly as described. Only flaw i've found is on the RHB 430N, the pressing the power twice to activate the rear Camera doesn't work. Going to investigate this more.

If you have a Sunroof do NOT worry there are 2 fairly large steel support beams (approx 1 1/2" thick hollow)that run across the roof. Perfect location for a DVD unit mounting bracket. Hit those with your screws even 1" long and you're golden. The sunroof and slider both sit above these beams.

Headliner is held up with some crazy industrial velcro type stuff. A good tug releases the headliner no need to take it off. I was able to run all new wires over the side airbags, down the a-pillar and behind the glove box without removing any dash panels. Ran the power and ground down the B pillar on the driver side, under the carpet and back out the factory hole at the harness.

Its Miller Time!

Your time here is growing shorter by the post, facehugger.

The Mod Monster does not go away. You can slow it down, put it aside, ignore it...but eventually it comes back...with a vengeance...

The best way to deal with it is to do a little bit at a time, regularly, and save for the larger stuff. Have a plan...and give in...

Resistance is futile.

For the dome light you should use a relay and provide a 12v feed to the contacts, I found that trying to tap into the cargo light circuit by itself was not sufficient to power the lights under my Leer700. I suspect the dome circuit is the same, the TIPM is what drives the circuit.

For the lock pic, I also noticed that the double push to activate the front camera is timing sensitive, it takes some practice to get it right.

Congrats on getting it all working BTW.

Did you use Dodge's PDF for the overhead install. I am only wondering if you use all the wires dodge want you to use.

it's not the ex-wife
it's not the loan we get

The proof is in the mods list in my sig. Unintended mods start at 'Tinted Tail Lights'.....
