If you have an R/T,turn your left and/or right turn signal on and look at the clear lens..you'll see they are also turn signals with a yellowish coloration inside the clear lens. The turn signal bulbs are on the corners inside the clear plastic, while the puddle lights are on the very bottom. Both are inside the clear plastic lens, though.

- Start by operating the mirror to the fully down position.
- Grasp the top edge of the mirror, and pull it further then the adjuster did...this will release the top clips.
- Look down inside to see the lower hinge style clips...separate them and remove the mirror glass.
- Disconnect the heated mirror wires (if applicable)

- Locate and remove the 3 screws that hold on the mirror cover.
- Remove cover

- Locate latch tab for LED lighting unit and release
- Gently pry the LED unit from the housing.
- This might take some persistence, and the weather seal sometimes hangs on to the unit and resists it's removal.

Good Luck!
I just tried this on my '12 Laramie. It worked, but I wanted to add a couple of tips. After you pull down on the top of the mirror to release the top clips, use the electronic control to raise the mirror. This makes the bottom hinge clips slip right out. Also, there's no need to remove heated mirror wiring if you plan on putting the assembly back together again. Just FYI.

On the puddle lights, is there 1 or 2 little LED's that are supposed to come on? I have the one white/blue LED's but it looks like there is 2. Any help would be appreciated.

I know this is an old thread but can the clear plastic piece be replace since it can be removed? Had a stone or something pop up and smash the clear plastic. Full OEM mirror replacement is north of $500 before install. All the LEDs still work.. Just the plastic

By the way

The dealership Parts Dept. carries the Mirror Glass in stock, no need to go to a glass shop to have it cut to fit

Somewhere on here, i posted several pix of when i replaced my mirror glass

here are a couple of them showing what is in back of the mirror glass

So i'll do what you guys suggest and take it to the dealer to have it replaced. But I am a little baffled as to what would someone do if the turn signal light burns out on one or both of the "puddle" lights? There's no way we could open and replace the bulbs on the side mirror puddle lights?
Apparently bulbs are not replaceable, it is the same as the led map lights in the upper console. Have to replace whole console.

You can buy the puddle light, $35 on Ebay, I bought one. Now I'm just trying to take apart the mirror
