Default loses momentum going UP hill

My 97 1500 4x4 with the 5.9L and 47RE tranny has 155,000 miles. It died and did not show any codes. I replaced the CRANK SENSOR (on the shoulder of a 4 lane highway...what fun!) and it started right up. I had zero problems for 350 more miles, then POW!, I lost spark to 4 cylynders. I hobbled home doing a whopping 20 MPH. My scanner showed "a random cylinder misfire P300 in cylinder 2,4,6 and 7. I replaced the CAM SENSOR in the distributor and the engine runs perfect. The truck drives fine, shifts fine going straight and level, but at the SLIGHTEST incline it losses momentum, not power. The steeper the hill, the worst it gets. On the steep hills the tach gets to about 3000 rpm but the truck barely moves. Tranny fluid is fresh and full. I relaced the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR and the PCM computer and COIL. Tried adjusting that "kick down" cable that goes from the throttle body to the tranny and still have the issue. Scanner shows absolutely no problem codes and parameters are in spec. Like I said, the tranny shifts fine on level roads. The problem being I live in the mountains and level roads are about 10% of my drive. WTF?

It does sound like torque converter slippage, I have read the front pumps are notorious in those transmissions for being a weak link back in the mid 90s.
