Hello all! First thread, first day here, first Dodge.....you get the idea.
Anyway, this past Sunday I traded my 82 Chevy K10 that I had sitting around (project that I never got to) for a 2001 Dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2l. It has a whooping 235,*** miles on the clock but runs amazingly well.
The truck is 100% stock.
Now the problem I'm having (which isn't really a problem yet) is when I first start the truck, I have to wait for it to get to +130* before I can drive it or else it stalls. Well since I've owned it this has happened once. My question is, is this a common problem with these motors or should I be worried?
Also I have a 24 foot flatbed trailer I'm planning on pulling with my XJ to the trails with. I know this isn't the ideal truck for that, but its all I got for now. So I was thinking about some moar power parts. My list so far that I've thrown together with out much research is:
Headers and full exhaust
Port the Tb because It looks like I can get much better airflow outta it
I see summit has an aftermarket intake mainfold - anyone try this?
Thats about it so far. Any ideas out there? Good idea, bad idea, you're a damn fool for trying to get moar power outta this motor..... Just be nice, its my first ram.
