Default Oil fill tube

I have a 95 1500 with a 5.9L and before i bought the truck I found out that someone had broken off the dipstick inside the tube. Can anyone tell me how to take the oil fill tube out so I can get the old dipstick out? Its one of the pressed in kind.

Welcome to the forum!

If it's a press in, you should be able to twist it and rock it back and forth to get it out. A little heat on the block casting there will help but be careful. Don't set things on fire!

take a small drill bit to plastic handle in the tube, drill a hole in it at an angle and see if you can get a pair of needle nose pliers to grab it. if you start twisting and pulling on the dipstick tube you got a change of breakin it off at the block, then your really screwed

OK, someones gonna tell me off here, I suppose, but I'll let you in on my little secret fix, I went around the tube with a tubing cutter, below where I figured where it was broke, once removed, I got a pice of stiff hose, about 2" long, slipped it over the ends of the cut tube, and I swear, no one will ever know the difference, if you want it to show, and extra stiff, put a coupla heavy zipties or a hose clamp over the repair, I didn't, and it is just fine. Now, to fix the dipstick... find a blown up motor, I would think, Any blown up motor. Vans are extra long, cut off the excess, and make your own marks, using a hammer and a chisel or punch or something!!!
