Default Toolbox Re-purpose -AKA 'Dieselkiss is a complete nerd!!'

Thought I'd share this little bit of nerd heaven with you guys.

My wife always makes me watch entirely too much HGTV. I think I've seen just about every design show they have, and while I don't enjoy them much, I have picked up a few ideas and concepts along the way. One of them is the term 're-purpose'. A rather pretentious sounding expression but, geez guys, it turns out you don't have to throw stuff away!!!

When I bought my ram it came with one width ways toolbox and two 'down the side' toolboxes. No idea what the guy who owned it did for a living, but seems he needed toolboxes. I sold the two side ones shortly after buying the truck but kept the big crossways one. I honestly never used it much and it sat empty 99% of the time.
When I bought a new 8ft pool table for my garage, I removed the behemoth so I had my full 8ft bed, and I never put it back in and honestly, I like having the full, clear 8ft bed and never really used the box, so had no intention of ever putting it back in.

So it's sat in my garage for months now, collecting dust and taking up space.
Yesterday I cleared my garage got rid of a lot of junk and reclaimed my man cave.
During this I came across 4 large coaster wheels I'd bought for a project I never completed and I had a moment's flash of inspiration.
So, I drilled holes and fitted the wheels to the bottom of the toolbox.

I re-purposed my toolbox, people!!!!. It now sits along side the sofa in the pool table area and acts as a second bench and the beauty is it now has all my tools in it - including all the loose ones that were deposited in various odd pots and boxes throughout my workshop.
The plan is now to degrease it, scuff it, prime it, then spray it black, spray a red dodge logo on the front to match the cool stools my wife bought me and to bolt a large cushion to the top of it turning it from a truck based toolbox to a comfy three people bench that doubles as a toolbox that can be easily wheeled around my 'Dodge themed' garage/workshop/man-cave.

Amazing the ideas you can get from watching TV shows you don't like lol

I've posted some 'as is' pics for now, and will post final pics when the job is finished for those of you who are interested and may even include a step by step picture how to.

Your giving me ideas. I had a regular cab truck for about a year and my wife got me a tool box for it. I didn't really want it that bad but she didn't know what to get me for Christmas last year. I now own a short be Quad Cab and I put the tool box in it, but not sure if its going to stay. I may do something similar with it like you did.
