At my dealership, Carl Burger Dodge, they know me well & i always get good service.
It is not unusual for me to put 5,000 miles on my Ram in a month & i know the Service Dept. likes the donuts that i usually take with me.
They have 7 Service Writers & i always get the same guy, i believe he is the head guy, at least he has the largest cubicle in the office. The Parts guy calls me Mister Tom, it is my first name. Even the courtesy van drivers know me, & i hardly ever use the service, i usually just wait outdoors for the service to get done, i talk to other customers while waiting
If i am concerned about a possible TSB, RRT, CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION, or Recall, i just mention it to the service writer & he checks it out, i find out about those from on this forumZ & do a bit of my own research before asking him

I got a call from a coworker yesterday that was at the dealer I bought my Ram from. He ran into the guy who bought my 07 Mustang GT that I traded in. Seems he had a few questions about the car and how long the TPMS light has been on or if the aftermarket wheels even have the sensors installed.

I told him the light is on because the right rear rim is bent and the tire has a slow leak. I happened to ask if it still had the Toyo Proxes on it. He said yes and I told him to turn the wheel to the far left or right and look on the inside tread of the tire. He says "oh damn, it's bald" He brought it to their attention and they ate $1400 in tires for him. It still needs the right rear rim replaced which is $375 with a 2-3 week wait while it's built.

Yet another strike for their service department. That car needed new tires all around and yet they either didn't catch it or didn't care which is a safety issue.

All of these comments ended the conversation and I walked out.

1.) Salesman:" Sir, I've spent a lot of time on this write up...I DESERVE...."

2.) 5 salesmen: "Don't think Dodge even makes the R/T in a pickup." "Yes, they do. It has a Viper motor and they are hard to get because they're only making 500 of them."

3.) Sales Manager: "Come on man, I know you can make your wife 'want' the blue one."

4.) Service Dept: "Yes, you were suppossed to bring us both sets of keys to do this service."

5.) Service Dept: "We cannot replace the tire that was ruined because our parts failed."

1. Lost a buyer for a $24K car(toyota)
2. Lost a buyer for a $30K truck(Dodge)
3. Lost a buyer on a $25K car(Toyota)
4. Lost a service customer and $36K truck sale(Dodge)
5. Lost any chance of making a customer happy and doing the "Right Thing".(Chrysler)

These were all different places over the years. I have an Excellent service/sales dept at my current dodge dealer.

I have been very happy with my current dealer. The service department Always calls me Mr. * When I took it in for the 3rd brake light leak they called other dealers until they could have a leak specialist fix it that day. And although it does annoy me a little bit, I can guarantee that a week after any service they perform I will get a call from Chrysler conducting a survey about how I was treated and if the service was satisfactory.

it doesnt matter if your a life long customer or a brand new customer, you should all the treated the same. PERIOD. your a CUSTOMER bottom line. and the fact that you have to bring donuts or goods with you, sure they all like that, just like we like it when we get food brought to us at my job. but it still shouldnt change their attitudes towards customers. and why would anyone want to stop by the dealer everyday? you guys make it seem like you do just to stop by...only time i go to a dealer is when something is wrong....am i missing out something?

I don't make a habit of just "stopping by" lol, especially since the dealership I have to go to now is not right in town anymore, but when I take my truck in for service, I try to bring them something. I think we all like it when people bring food to work!

oh no i understand Cajun thats the same as me, but i dont like when customers are treated differently because they barely show their face? just doesnt add up, i kno personally i give every customer the same service. bring their parts to them, help them find the parts they need, walk them out to their vehicle and give em a hand shake...sure there are those customers whom i have a closer relationship, but either way they're CUSTOMERS keeping us in business
