I'm thinking the 430 or 730 entertainment centers have a aux iPod connection on the face of the unit.

The 430 and 730 have the USB port on the front face and some have the usb port (made for the ipod) in the upper glove box.

just an FYI, I would suggest going aftermarket since neither the 430 nor the 730 work well with the ipods/iphones over the usb cable.

I have the 430N with the USB on the face AND in the upper glove box. I think the glove box USB is the Uconnect?

The USB port on the front of the 430/430N and 730 radios is not for the ipod. It is for a USB thumb drive to transfer data into the radio hard drive (or play from USB itself). The usb port in the glove box is for the ipod only (can't use for data transfer). Once again, if you are starting from scratch and your main purpose is to use an ipod/iphone then go aftermarket. There are too many issues with these radios and apple products.

The problems only exist if you haven't had the Uconnect update done. The Chrysler TSB# is 08-036-11A (10-26-2011) and is and has an addendum to the 08-036-11 which came out in June.

I use mine all the time and i have the 730N (Ipod Connection in the top glove box). i have never had a problem with my ipod, has an issue with the iphone and uconnect. That was fixed with an update from the dealer. i would say if you want a stock system go for it but odds are an aftermarket one with the same features would be cheaper.

I would just go aftermarket if I were you. Like said before these stock units do not work too well with iPods.

I am kind of in the same boat. I am happy with my 130, or whatever is in there right now. It works, but sounds terrible. Not sure if its the crappy stock speakers (non alpine), or the HU itself.

What are our options for aftermarket HU'S??? Can we only go single DIN, becasue the opening doesn't look like a double DIN would fit. I am new to the whole car audio thing. I have replaced a HU before, but thats about it. Dont mean to highjack, but I think it would be good info for the OP.
