Default Engine Fan

Anyone have problems with there engine fan not disengaging? I've been complaining to the dealer about this every time I go for an oil change but since I usually go on Saturday, there is never anyone there to look at it. Basically, it sounds like I am driving an 18-wheeler when I accelerate or downshift out of overdrive. Just curious if there is a quick fix that will get me another 1000 miles until I get it to the shop. I get crap mileage with it engaged. In warmer weather it would occasionally disengage so I didn't worry about. It would stay on for a week, shut off for a week. Now that it is colder, it is annoying me and will not shut off.

The service guys who check me in are never any help. I had to come here to find out about the thump I was feeling which turned out to be no baffles in the 32 gallon tank. Thanks by-the-way. I assume that was the right answer. The individual that responded had the symptom nailed and knew where the gas gauge needed to be when it happens.

You're talking about the mechanical clutch fan right? Sounds like an isolated incident I haven't heard anyone else with this issue. What's your mpg been? It should be easy for them to replace it, very easy to replace.

With stock programming, the electric fan is not programmed to turn on until 222 deg F (unless the AC or defroster is on as he said above).
