Default Serious help needed

Ok, so today I was driving my 1996 dodge ram 1500, and everything was fine until I was waiting at a red light to turn green, and then I went like usual. After I made the turn, and started going straight I lost control. Not sure what happened cause my foot was on the gas just a tad like always, probably was doing 15-20mph or even less. I did hear a loud pop before that, but it wasn't the tires, and I just thought it just backfired, but not sure.

The truck does backfire like crazy cause I need to get a new distributor, and hopefully that fixes it.

Also roads where wet from it raining which is why I was accelerating slowly.

So you really couldn't tell where the "pop" was coming from? Something similar happened to a friend of mine in his Ram recently, he heard a pop and lost control but he broke a tie rod. If you lost control afterward, I'd be checking under the front end but good luck.

Ok, thanks. I will check that out tomorrow. Its been driving fine though. I put about another 30 miles on it since then. I'm thinking that spot of road just had an oil spill or something.

I hope nothing is wrong with this truck cause its all I got right now. My car has too many issues, and needs inspected this month so I am working on it, but waiting for parts. I bought this truck for $2300, and the guy said all it needed was an o2 sensor for inspection, and it drove nicely so I took it to get inspected after I got it, $1700.00 later its inspected. Didn't know a truck that sounded good, ran good, could cost that much. Just needed 1 tire, brake line rerun cause it was under the truck body/ back axle, parking brake was cut off so that needed fixed, ect.

I still need a new windshield, 3 new tires, and the parking brake fixed. The parking brake fell out of the dash cause the cable got stuck on something when I got the truck stuck at a job site I was on. That site had nowhere to park but in the mud, and 2wd truck in mud with it raining like crazy = messy.

sounds to me when he truck gave a cough it just broke loose, if it was front end related more then likely your trip would have stopped there. but it dosent mean you cant chec any way.
