Default Side pipes?

Hello all I was looking at getting a new exhaust for my truck. What i really want are side pipes that come out on both sides right before the back tire. My truck is a 97 1500 5.9 single cab short bed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

well, i found the sidepipes, but the rest of the exhaust work would have to be custom. i was gonna do it myself, but didn't like how i had to run the exhaust piping. the frame gets in the way. would have looked ugly. i imagine i could have used a torch to cut some other things out of the way, but that's more work than i wanted to deal with.

i guess if you really want to change how the exhaust routes off the headers or whatever, then it may work. but i had future plans that involved leaving a lot room in certain spots. that may not be an issue for you.

A local exhaust shop could bang that out no problem! Check around and see what you come up with!

Thats what i was going to do, but when i talked to the shop they said i couldnt because the gas tank is on the driver side and it would interfer with the exhaust.

I had a set like this on my '94 GMC...it was lowered so I couldn't put the shields on....where the doors hinge, the 8" piece that's a different rust color was my Y for my DMH cutouts

i taken my ram to 3 exhaust shops none will do it before each rear tire..gas tank issue or some bullshit excuses.. only way i was told was if i switch to glas packs and to go true duals.. so they could run it basically under each door and out each side.. staying away from the gas tank. me personally dont like glass packs.. always been a flowmaster kind of guy or straight pipe.. so if i was to do it it go straight pipe.. but when i had my mechanic run some straight pipes on my truck it was really loud and great sound.. but to loud and i had a few problems with the neighbors. and a few cops so i bought the flowmaster super 10.. loud but not cop and neighbor issue loud lol!

u can get the cherry bomb shorty mufflers if u wanna run tru duals. there not considered glass packs and they are used on the new camaro and challanger kits. these would be ideal for side pipe exhaust but the issue with the frame being in the way is rather expensive to get around

tell them to run them along the outside of your truck frame(or chassis =)) thats what ill be doing, i have the pacesetter long tube headers straight piped right now then going with an x-pipe right after my T-case then 2 magnaflow mufflers then tubing bent to come out in front of my rear tires. the gas tank doesnt get in the way if you run them along the outside of your frame.
