Default New to the Rams

I am new to having a ram. I use to have a dodge dakota but upgraded to this 2011 dodge ram 1500 slt. I am not wanting to do a whole lot to this truck but mainly just CAI, Exhaust and programmer. Can someone direct me someplace that has these items. thanks a head of time.

Unfortunately, there are no programmers available for your truck yet. CJD encrypted the PCM software and the aftermarket has not been able to get past the encryption.

There are literally hundreds of sites that sell numerous cold air intakes and exhaust systems. First you have to decide which part you want to install on your truck, then find the best price.

In my experience, for exhaust, you pick the muffler you want and swap out the stock one, leaving the rest of the system intact unless you want to go from a single to a single in / dual out arrangement. Then, go talk to your local exhaust shop.

As far as the CAI, just stay away from the cheapie eBay units. The quality is inferior and sometimes the filter comes apart, sucking bits of filter material into the engine. Not a good thing.

You have to decide whether you want an enclosed system (AFE, Volant, etc...) or an open filter type (K&N, MOPAR, AFE, etc...) then start shopping.

Good luck!

Well, I have an AFE Stage 1 intake on my truck.

I went with a Magnaflow 18" single in / dual out muffler and new tailpipes for the exhaust. Remember, I have a HEMI with no MDS.

The sound of an exhaust is pretty subjective thing. What sounds good to me may not sound good to you. There are a LOT of videos here in the performance exhaust section to listen to.

The shorter the muffler can is, the louder it is.

I am not sure about your truck because mine has a Hemi, but the magnaflow 16869 kit is by far the highest quality exhaust I have put on a vehicle (and that's saying something).
Here are the reasons I went with the Magnaflow:
1) Design: Magnaflow has a straight through design, which is much more efficient than a baffle-type design such as a Flowmaster.
2) Quality: This kit is 100% T409 stainless steel with a lifetime warranty. The kit comes with 2 different tip sizes, I went with the 5" duals. These are welded together from the factory so you don't have to worry about low quality welds from a shop. Also, most shops use aluminized steel and do not mandrel bend their pipes.
3) Sound: The other kits sound great at start-up and idle but the sound "breaks up" when you get into the throttle. The magnaflow kit is smooth with a deep tone and it sounds incredible (personal opinion) when you open it up. It is loud, but not obnoxious like a glass pack or some other straight through mufflers.
