Squig69, I'm surprised they lasted you that long. That's impressive. I can only speak from personal experience and mine have always burned out early. Had a vw passat with DRL's, changed bulbs multiple times, I lost count, all before I reached 70k. Have the wifes Acadia, also DRL's, in the garage right now with one bulb burnt out, 28K miles. I'm always open to the fact that I could be wrong, but just my experience with DRL's.

Personally I love the Mandatory DRL's where I live. Since we're a bit farther north the days are very very short for a good chunk of the year and the bulk of heavy drive time is done in Twilight where its dark enough that visibility is drastically lowered, but its not dark enough that auto headlights kick in. As a truck driver out on the Highways and City streets all day I cant count how many vehicles have almost been erased by my semi because I simply cant see them until the last second. DRL's all the way!

i have to correct myself, ive had 1 bulb burn out on me with my last truck, these were just the regular stock bulbs and thats what i replaced it with. i find it strange also that your going through bulbs as much as you do. ive put Piaa H13 bulbs in this one now and will see what i get for life on them.

Ran nothing but PIAA in my hi, low, and drivers on my '07. 173,000 km later with no issues I put them in my '10. 63,000 km later I'll be putting the same bulbs in my '11 from my '10. Be surprised if I have to replace one before the next 100,000 km.
Why would anyone hate having drl?? All it does is make you more visible, and far less likely to have an accident because someone can't see you coming.
At high-noon on a clear day not really an issue. Any rain/fog or snow, getting close to dawn/dusk etc... I'd like to pull over every driver I can't see until they're almost on my bumper and crack their coconut. Not only are you endangering yourself, but every other motorist in your travels...
