rcgreg is on a distinguished road

Mine was facing down a guy armed with a 12 guage who had just fired 3 shots at his wife. Then suddenly realizing the 1 ' thick picket fence I was behind was not going to stop much ! I heard the hammer fall but it misfired, then the dog got him. The damn thing went off when my partner picked it up off the ground.

and that was week two on the job.

Awesome story thanks for sharing! I was a volunteer firefighter for about a year and a half and was only a first responder. My very first call was huge brush fire at an old refinery. Mutual aid consisted of a number of connecting cities, BLM and SO. I did way more then i should have and got away with it. My pucker moment was after a fully engulfed house fire we were putting out hot spots in the living room when all of a sudden i see the entire brick fire place and chimney falling over and headed right for me. I was cornered and only had one option and that was to jump on the ruined leather couch and hug the wall. Chimney barely missed me and i was on my toes for the rest of the night!
