Default Fiats Intentions

Hey there
I read a little bit about Fiat buying controling interest in Chrysler and I wonder if it is true I think I read that the CEO of Fiat said that he was going to focus on customer satisfaction and better relations. My 06 1500 has had some minor glitches, twice now the dreaded blend door failure and the multifunction switch indicating right turn when im wanting to go left. I wonder if the new management will look into what i think are serious craftsmanship issues better known as the im just here for the pay check blues We can only hope that there will some improvements across the board

Fiat is gaining more and more ownership, in the spring they owned something like 37% and were hoping to own 51%. If they have that much yet or not I am not sure.
Unfortunatly I dont think they will be trying to fix past mistakes before they were in the picture.

Yes, Fiat bought out most of the Federal debt on CJD.

Your 6 year old truck has some worn out parts. That's not unusual nor are they craftsmanship issues. Think how many times in 6 years that blend door has had to move. Think about how many times you have wiggled, turned, lifted and otherwise manipulated your multi-switch stalk.

I agree with MadDog, to many stops and goes in 6 years! But on the sugject of Fiat, I read where they are considering making Chrysler the home company. Did anyone else see that article? I do not know just where I saw it, but the more I think about it, the curious I become. Just what do they mean by that. Also not sure "home company" was used, but the principle remains the same.

Plain and simple Fiat wants a ready made service and distribution network for its small cars in the USA and some niche vehicles for Europe. They will keep what is profitable for Chrysler in the USA (Like the Ram Line) and replace the smaller vehicles with badge engineered Fiats (which may be made be produced at existing US Chrysler Plants).

Thats how I see it anyway. That and a buck will buy you a cup of cheap coffee.

It's interesting how they've separated the branding and made no secret about it, either. Now we have RAM, Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge and Fiat.

Even the Fiat cars have their own dealer network out here. You still see C/J/D and Rams on the same lots. I noted that the Fiat dealership locations are former GM, Ford and some C/J/D dealership locations that went out of business.

These are pieces to the puzzle. When I bought my 2011 back in May they were building a detached dealership on the same property as the C/J/D/R dealership I purchased at. That detached dealership is now complete and open, guess what it is...... That’s right!! Its Fiat!!! On the same property you can shop Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram & FIAT.

I am sure this has been in the works for some time now.
