My hemi tick is bothering me much more than this issue. I love the aesthetics of the truck but I am starting to wonder what I got myself into.
Before I had my TC replaced, the noise was very audible. So much so, that people that were never in the truck noticed it immediately. Also I could feel the vibrations in the accelerator pedal.

As far as the Hemi tick goes, that bothers me a little bit too. I have had my truck for one year this month and it seems that the coming of this colder season, the tick seems a tad bit more audible than last winter. I can't hear it inside the truck, only if I open the doors, the sound seems to come from underneath. I have read several threads on this and from my reading, this is absolutely normal for the Hemi so I don't feel too bad about it. I guess it's the nature of the beast. A small price to pay for more than enough power under the hood!

I was at the Dealership on Thursday Post-flash to have the Tech take a second look at my truck. When I got there they decided then was a good time to let me know that he was on a refresher course and would not be back until Monday. The owner of the Dealership was walking by and suggested he take a spin with me to have a listen. He said something is not right and to have at the Dealership right at 0830hrs on Monday and he'll personally march it in to the Tech. We'll see I guess.

Just picked up a 2012 CC Sport. had 4km on the clock when i got it. The truck was even built in November so its very new. I am getting a noise when the truck is in full lock up around 40mph. I really notice it when letting off the gas coming to a stop? It's more of a whirring noise and is not "grinding". Took to the dealer the day after I got it and he said they had one doing the same thing and was TC. If my truck was built this month, that would tell me they haven't done anything to fix this problem.

Anyone have this issue in drive or is it just in tow/haul or manual mode?

Mine is quiet in drive, I hear something in tow mode. The star bulletin says in tow mode or manual mode only.

I have the magnaflow duals on my truck so I don't hear anything, but I have noticed intermittently since last fall (long before the duals) that my truck will sometimes shudder very badly when I floor it, but only when the transmission is 30 degrees C or lower, once up to operating temp this stops. It shudders for a few seconds very badly on the downshift, almost feels like it is slipping except it doesn't over rev. After reading this thread I am wondering if this is the culprit.

Should also note that I had to have the flex plate replaced under warranty, as the bolt holes had become enlarged and it was loose and knocking loudly. Anyone else experience this?

Oh yeah, first post on these forums! LOL

Default Took Mine in Today

I have been hearing the sound plus a lot of vibration in the gas pedal. Went to the dealership today and shop foreman told me there was no Star Case for TC's out there. I told him there was and he said let's go for a ride. As we hit the TC noise "sweet spot" I said "there do you hear that?" It went like this from that point:
Foreman: That's your MDS
Me: It can't be, we're in Tow/Haul
Foreman: That doesn't matter it's always active
Me: That's not right, MDS is disengaged in Tow/Haul
Foreman: You don't know what you're talking about and this is definitely not a TC issue. Besides, TC issues always turn on the check engine light and yours is off. There's nothing wrong with your transmission.
Me: What about the Star Case for faulty TC's
Foreman: I'll do some research.
That really means go away, we aren't going to help you. So I did. I have several dealerships in the area and will try somewhere else.

Tom

Well i just dropped off my truck to have another revised torque convertor installed along with brand new cats as mine were rattling in the morning when cold.

I got a rental, its a 2012 Dodge Ram SLT Hemi. It does not make that stupid noise but i am not impressed with the new tranny at all.
