Default Homemade CAI

Here is a pic of the homemade CAI that I made this weekend...

I used 3" PVC, One 3" 90* Elbow, One 3" 90* Street Elbow, Krylon Fusion red spray paint, and Spectre Filters bought at AutoZone...

Looks good. DIY projects that work are very satisfying. However, is it really a CAI system? Looks like the filter is taking its air from inside the engine compartment, unless I'm missing a shelter box somewhere in the pic. Regardless, good work.

Nice. You can prob put another 90 elbow so you can go further down towards the headlight and maybe add a AIRRAM jet-scoop to help funnel air coming from the outside

Great DIY either way. Congrats.

yes it looks great, i recently took mine off my hemi as i used the same producs, for the longest i thought it help but honestly the only gain is the gasp for air it takes.. it really gets the hot air inside and when i put my stock intake back on, i gained .5 mpg(manually calculated) so i imagine is hurts performance a little...thats just my .02... i like your brackets lol mine kept breaking thats why i removed it haha

Thx guys, I am gonna make a heat shield and get a Air Ram Scoop... Will that help with it at all? I reset my mpg after install and am getting 15.9 where I was getting 14.8 with stock intake and K&N Drop in filter...

Letting it suck cooler air should help a lot.

I used a wall mount tool holder that holds shovels, rakes, or whatever and just tied to to the engine compartment... I was going to mount it with screws but it wouldnt reach the right spot... Works good though...

Ya I will post the pics when I get the scoop and heat shield on there!
