Default 3.92 + bigger tires = better fuel economy?

Hey guys,

On my old trucks (both of which had 4.10's) after I lifted them and put taller tires (35's) on them I got better fuel economy due to a reduction in cruising RPM's. I am looking at putting some 35" Nitto Terras (not very aggressive) on when the time comes to replace the stockers and am curious if anyone has seen their fuel economy affected either positively or negatively by a taller tire.

Thanks!

If the tires are narrower, yes it can help. That's exactly what I noticed (mine was already lifted) when I went from a 325 section width tire on a -6 mm offset rim to a 285 tire with a +18 mm offset rim.

Glad to hear...one more "reason" instead of an excuse for the other half to go a long with it Thanks!
