Hope that's enough time.
Awesome, thanks for posting the pics SDRAM, always helps to show a picture while telling the story. Everything looks like you are well on your way to a much better running Ram. Nice work! Keep us posted!

thanks. yeah. i've gone bak and forth on what parts to replace based on economic plan. was gonna do timing chain, but alas, didn't happen. was gonna do plenum gasket while i had most of the stuff out of the way.... nope, gonna have to wait... and i have a feeling that e-fan and/or DIY intake is gonna have to wait too. suxxors.

My 2002, 5.9L has been leaking for at least 8 months...just drips so i let it ride. I replaced the water pump about a year ago so I figured it was probably my own doing. Well it has finally dumped about 1/2 gallon of coolant on the garage floor. Took it to the shop as my schedule will not allow me to handle it myself and I was really annoyed thinking the leak was on me. Just got the call from the shop...timing chain gasket has blown out and it seems my water pump install was just fine. Anyway...going for the new chain as she has 112k miles. A few other new parts and about twice what I was expecting spend...I will be back on the riad tomorrow.

Ouch! Yeah that's not a fun unexpected repair at all. Well, look at it this way though, the common failure is replaced and hopefully you will never have to deal with another pump or timing chain cover in your ownership. Now....if you have the infamous 46RE hooked upto that 360, hopefully that's already been replaced and rebuilt right too! Then you'll "for real" be set!

I am not sure if it is 46RE, but the tranny was rebuilt at 93k miles. Hopefully I will be good to go for a while.
