Default Wyotech

Hello everyone. Im about to leave the USMC and pursue automotive tech. I was hoping i could get some input from the mechs and techs out there regarding the school. Do shops/dealers look for wyotech or UTI grads? does the school really give you a step up? any opinions or inputs are greatly appreciated.

I have a buddy who served 20 some-odd years in the Army, he retired about 3 years ago and went to Wyotech, he is currently still there mastering every aspect of auto customizing.... He is at the one in Pennsylvania, if thats the one you plan to attend PM me and Ill give you his info, He is planning to open a shop and wants to hire some people, He really wanted me on as he knows me and my work, but due to my injuries I had to decline... but he still wants me to help run the shop and ride everyones azzes and keep them in line... That, maybe i can do...lol

A few friend of mine went to the one in Blairsville Pa as well.
One went for autobody, one for diesel tech, idk what the other one did but he works for skip barber racing now
They all had the same oppinion pretty much, if you want to be there and want to actually learn its a great place. They all had multiple interviews before graduation and jobs lined up after they were done

Sacramento campus is really nice. Still pretty new. I filled out an application for that campus a few years back but couldn't come up with the $$$ to get into the program. The UTI campus is even newer, i never went inside it though, they built that campus after i had graduated (college, not tech school)

Yea they are, I built street rods for 6years before joining the army and I hade my own thing on the side that never took off. Getting the money behind what I was doing buy myself was my biggest problem and I never got that big brake to set me off but on the other hand there was other ways I could have gone about it but didn’t. I kind of gave up on that idea because I wanted a family. But I believe that I gave up to easy cause I do miss building like a part of me is gone, I had never been happier in what I was doing then I was at that point.
Wyotech is a good school but they’ll only tech you just enough to get you in the door at a good shop or decent entry level shop tell you can get some years under your belt of building tell you can move on to bigger and better things.
