Default turned truck off clicking sound?

I just turned my truck off within probably 10 minutes since ive been home. However for the first time there was a pretty loud clicking noise coming from the back. I just bought the truck, and I know it has flowmaster exhaust put on.. I dont know what series and also it has chrome tips which wouldnt cause it..

i put my hand at the tip of the exhaust and it sort of quieted down... and clues what this could have been from?

Agreed...as you know metal expands and contracts with heating and cooling and this often makes click/tick sound. If you have stainless steel components in the mix then it could be compounded. From what I understand, Stainless expands at like twice the rate of Carbon steel. And of course the cold ambient temps will make the differential even greater. Are your pipe hangers rigid? That would definitely not help.

A cooling exhaust. This is more prevalent when the ambient temperature is cooler.
