K&N's part number for 2009 Ram CAI - 63-1529
S&B's part number for 2009 Ram CAI - 75-1529
K&N's part number for the stock replacement filter - 33-2247
S&B's part number fot the stock replacement filter - 66-2247
The major difference seems to be price. CAI from K&N is over $300, but the S&B CAI is just over $200.
The stock filter is $66 from K&N, but only $40 from S&B. They both offer the "Million Mile Warranty" too.
What's up with this?!?
I can tell you FIRST HAND... the S&B kit is NOT the same as the K&N kit. Normally I would attempt to push the S&B products as they NORMALLY are of high quality... but there Dodge Ram kit is not very well put together and we have had nothing but problems with them. Thats the best I can say about the S&B 4.7L and 5.7L intake kits. Now the K&N kit is a much better put together kit.
S&B has been telling me for well over a year now that they plan to improve there 4.7L & 5.7L kits... but to this date they have not. I suggest staying away from the S&B intake kit for your 3rd Gen Ram.
