Default Emissions - Tucson

Just inquiring if your year has a EGR, does emissions do a visual that its on or does do they just check that its EGR code free?

On my 2006 jeep, they didn't even pop the hood. They hooked up a obdII delio to the port under the dash and made sure there were no error codes, sent me on thru.

Very nice. Our address is Out of Area which makes our personal autos emissions exempt, but only the Ram has the cats and EGR removed.

Thinking of driving the Ram more to work (NW Tucson) next year which means passing emissions to drive to a work place. The o2's are taken care of w/ no cats (providing they don't look under) so just thinking about EGR procedures since mine is blocked off.

Which emissions station did you take the Jeep too?

Thanks

Be happy that you don't live where i do
here they open the hood to make sure everything is there at a SMOG TEST ONLY Station, then they use a mirror devise to look under the vehicle

I don't know what they do at a smog & repair type facility, my smog notice has always said that i have to use a test only facility
It will be 2 more years until i need to get the smog tested on my 2009 Ram & i hope to have a new 2013 Ram before then

If i lived 30 miles west of where i do, i would be smog exempt on any & all vehicles, as long as my mailing address was within the smog exempt area
