Default Is there an Upgrade for the EVIC

I have noticed in the 2011 ram 1500 the evic is slightly different. A great example would be the tire pressure it monitors all four tires and continously tell you the pressure. Can some tell me if the dealer can do this or if is just not available for the 2009.

The "evic upgrade" is not available for 2009. The vehicle wiring harness has changed several times from 2009-2011. The wiring harness upgrade allows the evic to monitor indepentant tire pressures instead of a single signal.

Can you upgrade the wiring harness and vehicle computer to achieve this? I don't know, and i'm sure it would cost several thousand dollars to attempt this.

That thing is so behind, I put my 4 steelies with winter tires on and it took a week before the light came on since there are no sensors in the wheels. So really how reliable? Also it's was more expensive maintenance to rebuild or replace the sensors when you change your tires. Plan on if not under warranty replacing a few sensors when you buy new tires. I think I will throw in regular valve stems, a tire getting low is noticeable, if you look at your car ever. If you get a blowout I bet the sensor will take a week to notice. Not a fan of this wasteful option. Don't they check you air pressure during and oil change?
